Maria Masala

Maria Masala married Girolamo Ruffinu in Nule in 1790. The marriage certificate, pictured at right, appears to give her name as "Maria Masala Spanu," and describes her as "filiam conjugam... solutam" (?). It names her parents as "Ioannes Risgali (?) Masala" (Giovanni Masala) and "Iosepha Spanu Luino (?)" (Giuseppa Spanu) and describes them as "oppidi" (with Nule implied?), presumably meaning "of the town of Nule."
