Luigi Ruffinu Marriage 1.jpg

Grazia Coloru marries Luigi Ruffinu, muratore in Nule in 1815. Her parents were Salvatore Coloru and Giovanna Sanna, whose names we obtain from her marriage records (see right). Because Luigi remarries in 1831, we may suppose that Grazia died at some point before 1831 and after the birth of her son Nicolo in c. 1828.

The Sassari state archives hold a will dated to 1831 of one Francesco Coloru Canadi of Nule. This will mentions his sister Maria Coloru and the children of his dead sister Grazia Coloru. It also names "mia carissima consorte Paola Arcadu" and "il mio fio d'affinita Francesco Mazzita." The Grazia named in this will may be the same Grazia, but we cannot be certain: Francesco's will does not give his father's name, and for him and Grazia to have had different maternal surnames would require Salvatore Coloru to have married twice.
