Ozieri
Introduction
Ozieri is a town of about 11,000 people in Sardinia, Italy. It is the birthplace of Giovanni Ruffini and Maria Teresa Meloni, and many of their ancestors.
Research
On Friday, March 26, 2011, Giulio Laurenzo Ruffini and Giovanni Roberto Ruffini were, through the assistance of Dottore Cau, able to consult the Ozieri church archives to research their Ruffini family ancestors.
They searched the baptismal records for Ruffini in 1853-1855, finding Antonio Francesco Ruffinu in February 1855. They also searched baptismal records for Mattia Culeddu in 1813, 1814, and 1822-1824. This search only uncovered Maria Francisca Culeddu. No systematic search of the marriage records was conducted.
Our Homes
The photo Giovanni Roberto Ruffini had believed to be of his grandparent's two homes (taken in 1974?).
The same location found by Giovanni Roberto Ruffini and Yelena Mikhailovna Sorokina in 2009.
Living Relatives
When Charlotte Ann Quinlan and Giovanni Roberto Ruffini visited Ozieri in 2009, they met Achille Deledda, a relative by marriage who was visiting Ozieri but now lives in Monti. His wife and children now live in Italy's mainland.
