Born circa 1832, Giovanni Antonio appears in the 1835 Nule matricola (see right) as a three year old son of our ancestor Luigi Ruffinu, the muratore, and appears in several subsequent matricola.
In the 1867 civic rolls for Nule, he appears as the Segretario Communale (with his last name spelled "Ruffino"), the recording official for every entry. In entry 37 of that year, he records the October 14 birth of his daughter Luigia Teresa Ruffino by his wife Maria Zoroddu, who is the daughter of the late Giovanni Angelo Zoroddu. The couple also had a son Francesco Ruffino born in 1860.
His death at age 37 is reported in the first entry of 1869. He died in his house.
