Santo is the father of the painter Girolamo Ruffini. The Archivio Diocesano in Naples has records of his marriage in their indici matrimoni and processetti di matrimonio. His marriage (record number 1236) took place in 1701 in the parish of S. Anna di Palazzo di Napoli. The bride, Nicoletta Huovoli (Nicoletta Ovolo), is described as "di questa parrocchia." Santo is described as "della terra di Acumelo (Accumoli) Diocesi di Ascoli." He is 20 years old at the time of marriage, and has been in Naples for 10 years, which would date his birth approximately to 1681. He is the son of Antonio Rufino.

His children from this marriage were Luigi Antonio, Geronimo Michel'Angelo, Domenico Antonio Rosario, Giovanna Antonia Serafina, Camilla Teresa Lisabetta and Domenico Antonio Gennaro.

Santo married again on May 9, 1723, to Orsola Barracca.

His children from this marriage were Gennaro Giro, Giuseppe Antonio Giacomo, Giacomo Gioacchino Nicola and Anna Maria Irene.

Photographs of the baptisms of all of these children are in our records.

If these records are complete, and no other children are missing from these records, we may suppose that Girolamo Ruffini, the Neapolitan painter in Sardinia, is the Geronimo Michel'Angelo born on September 30, 1705. Assuming a second son was named Domenico after the first son died, it is possible that our ancestor Domenico Ruffino is the Domenico Antonio Gennaro born on January 28, 1714.
