Giovanni Antonio appears in the 1835 Nule matricola (see right) as a three year old son of [[Luigi Ruffinu, muratore|Luigi]], and appears in several subsequent matricola.

In the 1867 civic rolls for Nule, he appears as (with his last name spelled "Ruffino") the Segretario Communale, the recording official for every entry. In entry 37 of that year, he records the October 14 birth of his daughter [[Luigia Teresa Ruffino]] by his wife Maria, whose name I cannot read, but who is the daughter of the late Giovanni Angelo.
